Frequently Asked Questions at Clearing

Embarking on your clearing journey can be a path filled with questions. At University Centre Peterborough, we understand that each student's journey is unique and that you might have queries about the process.

That's why we've curated this comprehensive list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) to help guide you through the clearing process. From understanding what clearing is, to finding out how it works at our university, and learning how to make the most of it, we're here to provide the answers you need. Whether you're new to clearing or simply need some specific information, our aim is to make your journey as smooth and straightforward as possible.

Please make sure you have details of your achieved or predicted A-level, BTEC or level 3 grades as well as GCSE/GCE qualifications for English, Maths and Science (if required). If you have copies of your certificates these can be sent to admissions@ucp.ac.uk.

If you have already applied through UCAS, please have your UCAS personal ID available.

If you have not yet applied through UCAS, we will need you to have personal statement ready. Click here for a UCAS guide to completing your personal statement.

Don’t panic as it's not uncommon for grades to sometimes be better or worse than expected. Please email admissions@ucp.ac.uk and we will quickly put you at ease and let you know if you still have a place.

If you have a conditional or unconditional place at another university and have now changed your mind on the course or where you want to study, you still have the opportunity to apply to University Centre Peterborough.

Firstly, email admissions@ucp.ac.uk or complete the Clearing Callback Form above. Once we have confirmed we will offer you a place, you can release yourself into Clearing via UCAS Track and then select University Centre Peterborough as your Clearing choice using our institution code P56.

If you've already got a confirmed place to study with us, but want to change to a different course, then you don't need to use the Clearing process, but instead simply email admissions@ucp.ac.uk.

If we have offered you a place and you would like to defer it, do not use Clearing to do this but email admissions@ucp.ac.uk.

There are part-time study options for nearly all courses starting in September. If you are applying to study part-time, you can apply directly to UCP by completing the form below and returning to admissions@ucp.ac.uk.

We still have some spaces available in student accommodation with rates from £105 per week in spacious 5 bed apartments with all rooms having double beds, study areas and en-suite bathrooms. For the latest availability, please email accommodation@ucp.ac.uk with your name and the course applied for.

If you have ALREADY applied for your student finances, but are now studying at UCP or studying a different course, you will need to contact Student Finance England to advise them of the changes as soon as you have confirmed your final Clearing choice.

If you have NOT YET applied for student finances, you will need to apply as soon as possible for a tuition fee loan and maintenance loan to cover your living expenses. If you do not apply early you may not receive funding for when you start the course. Click here for more information on fees and funding.

When you apply for student finance funding, please use institution code FFCH and institution name 'University Centre Peterborough' for all higher education courses within the Inspire Education Group.

Yes. We are conscientiously planning for the next academic year and in doing so, we are keen to hear from students with underlying or temporary health concerns. Whilst some students have already declared conditions to Student Support, we invite any student with health considerations to complete a short COVID-19 Health Notification Form (see link below) and return it to support@ucp.ac.uk to ensure that we can effectively plan support for you. Please contact support@ucp.ac.uk if you need any further clarification.

University Centre Peterborough currently has around 700 students on over 30 different degree level programmes.
