Award-Winning Student-Led Publication, ‘Inside the Box’, Enters a New Era

With a brand new team bursting with ideas, an exciting chapter awaits University Centre Peterborough’s student publication, Inside the Box

The team's Social Media Manager and Deputy Editor, Jen Ramm, who is also a year two Journalism student at UCP, has given ITB's social media pages a burst of energy with increased content and fresh designs. The website has also been revamped to be more user-friendly and easier to navigate, ensuring that visitors won’t miss any incredible content.

ITB also has a new Editor, Trinity Barnatt, who is also in the second year of her Journalism degree. As Editor, Trinity is keen to strengthen the student publication’s connections with creative organisations in Peterborough, while also representing the student body.

The team have recently rebranded Inside the Box Radio to Inside the Box Podcasts which are now featured on our website as well as on Spotify. This will allow our students to share more topics and limitless creativity in a shared space.

In 2023, Inside The Box won the 'Best Newcomer Publication' award for the Midland’s region, after seeing off stiff competition from various student publications in the area.

Editorial team members will also be representing UCP at the Student Publication Association (SPA) Annual Conference in April, where they will attend guest lectures from industry experts to learn ways to propel Inside the Box into further success.

Speaking of success, the team have sent off this year's submissions for the SPA student awards and is hopeful to be shortlisted for an award again this year.

Please keep an eye out for the latest print edition in early March for all the best content, heavily contributed by our amazing year one students! They have joined the team with enthusiasm and lots of ideas.

Moreover, our students are just getting started and we cannot wait to see what the future has in store for their publication!
