Business Management Graduate Says University Centre Peterborough “Fully Supported” His Sporting Commitments

After completing his A Level studies at nearby Hampton College, Nathan Long enrolled on a Business Management degree at University Centre Peterborough. Alongside his studies, Nathan was (and remains) a keen ice-hockey player, playing for Peterborough Phantoms.

Nathan’s talent has taken him all over the world; during his studies he even represented Great Britain in the 2019 Winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk, Russia. Nathan explained how the University “fully supported” his sporting commitments, and accepted that he would be unable to attend some lectures. He said that lecturers ensured he still received all of the required content so that he didn’t fall behind, and often informed him of upcoming course deadlines well in advance to ensure they didn’t clash with sporting events.

In studying locally, Nathan obtained a Higher Education qualification, whilst also being able to pursue existing commitments. His experience is one echoed by many students enrolled at University Centre Peterborough. Many seek paid work or work experience in their chosen field alongside their studies, enabling them to gain a number of transferable skills. Studying and gaining practical experience locally establishes valuable contacts, boosting the future career prospects of graduates seeking employment in our high-growth, diverse city.

Nathan is looking to apply for the Fire Service early next year, whilst continuing to play for the Peterborough Phantoms. Inspire Education Group wishes Nathan all the best in his future endeavours.
