Final-year students at University Centre Peterborough are set to release their anthology, "True Voices," thanks to support from the Peterborough City Council's Growth and Regeneration fund.

This sponsorship ensures the printing and distribution of the anthology, offering emerging writers more opportunities to showcase their work.

"True Voices" represents a collaborative effort from budding writers hailing from various corners of Peterborough, showcasing the rich tapestry of talent that thrives within the city. As the title suggests, the anthology aims to amplify the voices that are often overlooked or underrepresented in mainstream literature, offering a platform for authentic stories and perspectives to be heard.

The eagerly anticipated anthology is poised to captivate readers with its diverse and compelling collection of writing from across the Peterborough community.

"We are thrilled to present 'True Voices,' a collection that celebrates the myriad of voices that make up our vibrant community," said Caz Dowse, one of the lead editors of the anthology. "Our goal with this project is to shed light on narratives that may have gone unnoticed, giving voice to experiences that deserve to be shared."

"True Voices" is scheduled for publication in May 2024, promising readers an engaging and thought-provoking journey through the hearts and minds of Peterborough's literary talent. From poignant poetry to gripping short stories, the anthology offers something for every reader to savour and enjoy. Writers can submit work up until the 30th March.

Writing submissions of all genres up to 5000 words are invited and must be based on the theme of Peterborough. The deadline for submissions is 11.59pm on the 30th March 2024.

"We invite readers to join us on this literary adventure as we explore the myriad of voices that define our city," added editor Rob Lynch. "With 'True Voices,' we hope to spark conversations, challenge perceptions, and ultimately, inspire change."
