UCP Celebrates HE Manager Katie McAllister’s Doctorate Achievement

University Centre Peterborough (UCP) is delighted to announce that Katie McAllister, HE Manager for Business & Education, has recently completed her doctorate with the Open University.

Katie's doctoral research focused on the internal considerations for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) when forming alliances with Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), reflecting her keen interest in partnership potentials for UCP and the higher education sector.

When asked about her choice of study, Katie expressed her passion for the topic, stating, "This topic particularly interests me because, as the director of a small construction company, I continue to witness the potential of partnerships with SMEs for UCP and the higher education sector."

Katie's journey towards obtaining her doctorate while working at UCP required meticulous time management and personal commitment. Balancing demanding work responsibilities with in-depth research and coursework demanded discipline and sacrifice. However, Katie's intrinsic motivation and the potential impact of her research on the field kept her driven throughout the challenging yet rewarding journey.

UCP provided a supportive environment throughout Katie's doctoral studies. Connecting with colleagues who were also on their doctoral journeys proved invaluable, offering encouragement and guidance in navigating the challenges of balancing work and studies.
