UCP Forensic Investigation Graduate to Study Masters Degree in Forensic Anthropology and Archaeology

Charlotte Stone, BSc (Hons) Forensic Investigation graduate of University Centre Peterborough (UCP), part of Inspire Education Group (IEG), will be enrolling on the MSc Forensic Archaeology and Anthropology course at Cranfield University’s Forensic Institute in October.

Charlotte praised her experience of undergraduate study at University Centre Peterborough, “I’ve gained so much experience and confidence by studying at UCP, which has helped me to progress on to Masters level study. I chose UCP because it was close to home, allowing me to travel to university in a city I already knew – it’s the ideal place to study if you’re looking to get a degree without travelling far from home”. She continued, “The cohort sizes were small, meaning you built close-knit relationships with fellow students. We all got on so well and supported each other throughout the degree. Working in these small groups during the crime scene modules stands out as something we all enjoyed”. Charlotte also liked the practical approach to the course, “We were able to gain lots of real-life experience throughout our studies – being able to travel to Peterborough City Hospital Mortuary to view a post-mortem was a highlight”.

Charlotte also commended the pastoral support she received from UCP staff, “I suffer from anxiety, but received amazing support from my lecturers. I also experienced a family bereavement towards the end of my second year of study, where I was given an extension on my assignments and put in contact with pastoral staff who met with me to offer a listening ear. Don’t be afraid to reach out for extra support from lecturers or student support; they’re there to help”.

Charlotte concluded, “I am grateful for my UCP experience and the lifelong friendships I formed there over the 3 years. I’m looking forward to celebrating at my graduation in September”. Inspire Education Group wishes Charlotte the best of luck in her future endeavours.
