Department Overview

Our Counselling department offers comprehensive courses designed to help you excel in therapeutic counselling and psychotherapy. Our Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling nurtures self-reflection, develops counselling skills, and readies learners for professional counselling roles in various sectors.

It combines a methodological approach with ethical considerations in counselling practice and prepares students for a private counselling career. Our BA (Hons) Therapeutic Counselling and Psychotherapy (Top-Up) course, is a unique blend of person-centred and cognitive behaviour theory (CBT) counselling, aiming to enhance understanding and application of these techniques. The smaller class sizes at University Centre Peterborough promise personalized attention, fostering skilled and reflective practitioners ready for a variety of counselling careers. All qualifications are awarded by The Open University.
