Transparency Return

Please see below for details of the Transparency Return completed by English higher education providers registered with the OfS.

Transparency Information 2026

University Centre Peterborough is committed to transparency and supporting student choice. As a registered higher education provider with the Office for Students (OfS), we are required under Condition F1 of the Higher Education and Research Act 2017 (HERA) to publish annual data regarding student attainment.

Purpose of Publication

The purpose of this information is to provide prospective and current students, as well as the wider public, with clear data on how students at our institution perform. By publishing these figures, we aim to contribute to a transparent higher education sector that highlights student success across different backgrounds.

Background to the Data

The data presented here has been provided directly by the OfS. It is drawn from the individualised student data we submitted in our Student record and Individualised Learner Record.

Due to a temporary pause in publication requirements during 2024, this year’s release is unique as it covers two academic years: 2023-24 and 2024-25. Moving forward, this information will be updated annually in the spring to ensure the most current data is available to our students.

What this Data Covers

In line with the specific requirements for 2026, the published tables focus on student attainment, broken down by:

  • Sex
  • Ethnicity
  • Socioeconomic background

The data includes the number of students who attained a particular degree or academic award, specifically highlighting the percentage of first-degree qualifiers achieving a 2:1 or above.

Data Privacy and Rounding

To protect the privacy of our individual students, the data has been rounded and suppressed where necessary.

  • Headcounts are rounded to the nearest 10.
  • Percentages are rounded to the nearest 0.1.
  • Where student numbers in a specific category are very low, the data is suppressed (marked as [low], [none], [DPL], or [DPH]) to prevent the identification of individuals.

Complaints and Appeals

Complaints procedure for students

At UCP, we work hard to ensure our students’ expectations and needs are met. Before submitting a formal complaint, we ask that you work with us to resolve any issues that you may have. Our lines of communication and identification of who can help are in the policy below. If we are unable to resolve your complaint informally, you should complete and submit the stage 1 form below. Students are encouraged to seek the guidance and support of the Student Officer.

If you are a student studying at ESPA, they will advise you of their informal process. If your complaint cannot be resolved, you should follow the complaints procedure below.

OIA Annual Statement

The Office of the Independent Adjudicator for Higher Education (OIA) handles complaints against higher education institutions once students have exhausted the institution’s internal complaints procedures. The OIA Annual Statement provides contextual information for the handling of any complaints made about the University Centre Peterborough to the Office of the Independent Adjudicator for Higher Education (OIA), and their outcomes following OIA investigations.

Annual statements for all providers can be viewed on the OIA’s website. To view statements for individual universities, click on “search for a provider” and type in the name of the university for which you wish to see the statement.

University Centre Peterborough joined the OIA Scheme during 2019. Annual Statements with complaints data are only issued in relation to providers which have been OIA members for the whole of the relevant calendar year.
